The five elements of Wicca, Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Spirit, are traditionally believed to be the actual building blocks of all creation.  However, according to Shanddaramon others hold a more modern understanding whereby these elements represent the many forces that exist in life. The five-pointed star of Wicca, called the pentagram, represents each of these elements.  There are many correspondences to these elements including the five human elements that are important for personal development.  The five human elements are Mind, Heart, Soul, Body and Spirit. These relate to the five basic elemental forces as follows:

AIR                  MIND              the seat of the intellect

FIRE                HEART          the seat of the life force and outer emotions

WATER            SOUL              the personal connection to the spirit and inner emotions

EARTH            BODY             the physical

SPIRIT            SPIRIT            the eternal essence that is part of each of us
